how the calculator works.
three numbers go in. everything else is a stated assumption you can argue with. model version cr8-payback-v1.2026-09.
what you type in
deal value over the life of a client, in dollars.
close rate on qualified sales conversations, as a percent.
monthly ad spend, in dollars.
cost per lead
we model cost per lead inside a band of $60 to $350, with $145 as the middle case. bigger deals mean a thinner, more senior audience, and bigger budgets mean showing the same people the same ad more often, so both push your cost per lead up inside that band.
client accounts we have run landed between $52 and $195 per lead.
leads to meetings to clients
of the leads you get, we count 8% turning into a real meeting in the bad case, 15% in the likely case and 30% in the good case. your own close rate turns meetings into clients.
what a client costs you
the all-in cost per client is your ad spend plus our fee, divided by the clients won. the $8,000 fee is counted on top of ad spend and spread over 6 months, so it is not hidden and not double counted.
LTV : CAC is your deal value divided by that cost. above 3 : 1 is a green light. between 1 and 3 it is workable, but something has to be tightened first. below 1 : 1 the channel takes more than it gives back and we say no.
the two hard gates
under $10,000 of lifetime value we stop before the forecast. paid linkedin cannot carry a deal that size.
under $2,000 a month there is not enough data to learn from, so we stop there too.
what this is not
it is a model, not a promise. it does not know your offer, your sales team or your timing. it is honest about the range instead of quoting one flattering number.
